You run a digital agency. Your team looks to you for all the answers. Some things you’ve learned over the years and feel confident to solve. Others…well, you just don’t know. The solution? You are not alone. Every year hundreds of owners come together to learn, share and commiserate at Owner Summit. Many owners tell us they’ve drastically improved their shops and avoided major pitfalls through the relationships they’ve formed.

Owner Summit 2018 is your chance to improve your company and help others improve theirs. The best part, these connections last for as long as you want them to. When you leave Owner Summit and head back into the challenges of running your shop, you’ll stay connected to your newfound support group. Over three hundred owners connect daily via Slack and Basecamp to share knowledge, solve problems and work on projects together. It’s truly a thing of beauty.

Finding your people

Walking into an event with hundreds of people can be intimidating. That’s why we work hard to help you find the shops you can relate to before you ever get on a plane. Our attendee directory will share key information like the size of a shop’s team, where they are located (or if they are distributed), project methodology and the types of work they focus on. We’ll invite everyone to the Owner Summit 2018 Slack channel weeks before the event so we can get conversations going and let everyone begin self-selecting into interest groups.

At Owner Summit, you’ll have breakout sessions every afternoon where you’ll participate in moderated discussions around key topics like business development or avoiding burnout. Your group will be selected based on the size of your shop as well as other criteria. These sessions often lead to actionable solutions to issues you may be facing as well as lasting friendships.

Who’s going?

Last week we released 50 tickets to Owner Summit alumni, and they were gone in a record four days. Here are some of the shops you’ll have a chance to connect with:

Lessons from the main stage

Every morning at Owner Summit, we’ll get together for a bite to eat and to learn from other owners based on their experiences or expertise. This year, we are excited to welcome back two of our most popular and highest-rated speakers to share some serious lessons we can all learn from.

Wil Reynolds from Seer Interactive will once again grace the Owner Summit stage and share his experiences growing one of the most successful digital marketing firms in the world. Rumor has it, he’ll share the story of not selling his company. A decision that would leave many of us dumbfounded.

Richard Banfield of Fresh Tilled Soil is also coming back and sharing the strategy of shifting gears after 12 successful years. Not only did they laser-focus their service offering to pure UX/UI, but they went distributed at the same time. How has it worked out? We’ll be among the first to know when Richard takes the stage.

Workshops

2018 will also mark the first year we’ve added workshops to the Owner Summit experience. And we couldn’t be more excited to announce that Jen Dary and Rob Harr will be kicking them off. Rob will start the day showing us how to conduct effective discoveries. Then Jen will help us learn how to deal with owner fatigue so we can keep our energy up and teams moving forward. Workshops will be $495 for both sessions. They will take place on Sunday, February 11 from 9:30am-5:30pm.

Let’s get this out of the way: I am not a golfer. I’ve tried. I like driving the cart and being outdoors. But this isn’t about me! As we shared the location with alumni we heard quite a few people get excited about the beautiful golf courses at Wild Dunes. So we thought…why the heck not?

The inaugural Owner Summit Golf Tournament will take place at The Links on Saturday, February 10 in the morning. This course was the first designed by PGA Golfer Tom Fazio, and it’s said to be his favorite. And if you think it would be fun, but you’re not a golfer, you’re welcome to be on my team and I’ll make you look good. Golf clubs will be available for rent if you don’t have your own.

The cost to enter the golf tournament is $175/person. Equipment rental will be extra if you need it.

Wild Dunes

You won't find a more beautiful setting than Wild Dunes for learning, sharing and collaborating!

Creative spaces inspire creative problem-solving. That’s why we've set Owner Summit at the spectacular Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms. Forget stuffy conference rooms, we'll be connecting by the ocean and under blue skies. Not that you’d ever want to leave this beach paradise, but you’ll only be 30 minutes away from one of America’s favorite cities, Charleston. We’ve negotiated a $150/night plus tax room rate for you. The lowest yet!

The early bird…

Ok, you probably don’t want a worm. But we just released 50 more tickets for Owner Summit 2018 that are priced at $1,299. Not only is this $200 off the official price, but these next 50 tickets will round out the group that helps us select the focal topics for Owner Summit 2018. So if you’d like to save a couple of hundred bucks and have a say in the conversations we’ll be having, this button is just for you:
